Kansas Virtual Academy Welcomes Elementary School Students for the 2019-2020 School Year

OLATHE, Kan.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Students and teachers at Kansas Virtual Academy (KSVA) will start the 2019-2020 school year on August 19. A full-time, online public school program of Spring Hill Unified School District, KSVA is tuition-free and open to students in grades K-6 throughout the state.

Combining innovative technology with a rigorous curriculum led by state-licensed teachers, KSVA provides each student with a personalized learning experience. Students take a full course load across the core subjects of math, science, English/language arts and history.

“At KSVA, our online classes allow our students to learn in ways that meet their needs,” said third grade teacher Trisha Spears. “We are proud to provide Kansas families with a public education option that lets them explore their education, and we work hard to know exactly where they are, meeting them there to ensure growth.”

KSVA’s dedicated staff facilitate lessons during live, interactive online classes. In addition, teachers offer one-on-one instruction, online chat sessions and family phone calls to build close partnerships with parents and students in support of academic success. The online classroom enables students to enjoy a safe learning environment and connect with classmates and teachers from across the state.

Students enroll in online school for a variety of reasons, including advanced learning, a bullying-free environment, and the ability to balance their education with extracurricular pursuits or medical needs. Throughout the year, KSVA builds a sense of community through in-person field trips, community service opportunities and social outings.
