Originally aired WEYI-TV – March 26, 2021

The Bay County Sheriff recognized Elisabeth and Aiden Kunz for turning in more than $1000 they found while exercising during their gym class back in January of this year.

The two found a chip bag containing more than $1000 and immediately told their mother.

The parents contacted the Bay County Sheriff’s Department.

It was later found out the money had come from a bank robbery that occurred on January 22 in Bangor Twp.

The Bay County Sheriff awarded the two with a certificate of recognition, a gift certificate from JoJo’s Refresh Stop, and each a new bicycle and Walmart gift card to purchase bicycle safety equipment donated by WalMart.

Elisabeth and Aiden attend Michigan Great Lakes Virtual Academy.

Mid-Michigan NOW’s Dave Bondy talked to the two and their mom Friday evening.
