Parents explore the option of ‘Washington Virtual Academies’ free online-only classes

With so many school districts moving to online-only this fall, and a strong chance more will follow — some parents are looking at all their options. One of those options is to switch their students to a K-12 public school system that’s been offering online-only classes for more than a decade, free of charge.

Summer Shelton is the Head of School at Washington Virtual Academies, and she told KOMO’s Charlie Harger how her schools work, the amount of time it requires of parents and students, and of the intense interest she’s hearing from families around the state.
